In signing Senate Bill 153 into law, I note it sets the fees for the           
specialized license plates commemorating the arts at a much higher             
cost than those for other specialty plates. If the public finds the cost       
of these plates prohibitive, it is questionable how effective this             
approach will be as a potential new funding source for the arts. I             
will monitor this program and will urge the Legislature to lower the           
fees if necessary to make it a viable funding plan.
